"Once upon a time"...:)
My name Jakup inspired the creation of the nickname Kubito and Kubito became a brand name under which I am presenting my passion for wood and woodworking.
Everything started few years ago, by "coincidence", when I found out, I really like working with wood...
I've never studied woodworking at school, everything I know I've found on the way- by reading, watching videos, trying small projects, learning from my "mistakes"...
This was for me always the best way how to learn things. I´m just not a school type :).
My work is based on my own unique designs, using the golden ratio, beautiful, smooth curves and the ancients sacred symbols. This symbols are not just pictures, they have a certain meaning and power, so I use them with respect and gratitude. Thanks to this unique and premeditated design my pieces exceed the area of ordinary furniture, or kitchen accesories. Things I make are poweful objects, which are meant to bring harmony and peace to your home...
Sometimes I take inspiration from the other craftmans around the globe, mostly from the youtube.
The biggest inspiration from the outside world is comming from Japan, for its simplicity, grace, purity and real respect to the craft.
I use only hard wood in my production, as I care about the durability and sustainability of my products. I´m fascinated by the variety of texture and colors of our domestic wood, such as oak, maple, cherry, walnut, ash, or red spruce. By the combination of this beautiful materials I can make pieces of furniture, which caresses your soul every time you touch it or look at it.
My dearest wood of all is oak. Every tree is so uniqe and precious, but there is something more, in oak. It is a pure magic, I dont even know how to describe it...
I feel very honored to have a chance working with wood and be able to shape it to a new form which caries the soul of this beautiful material to my customers...
